At night, I look forward to having a snack after the kids go to bed and to enjoy with some TV watching. An ice cream every night is probably the healthiest thing I can do—especially when it is tied to a good diet. I like to use ice cream as a reward—if I have enough calories left over I can have an ice cream! That is plenty enough motivation for me! Now, I must explain something however. When I say “ice cream” or “ice cream”, I am not talking about favors you can get at Baskin Robbins. I am talking about the novelty ice cream snacks—ice cream sandwiches, premade cones, ice cream bars, etc. I like scooped ice cream, but I don’t want to scoop it out. I want to simply unwrap and sit back down. With that said, I have identified my three top picks of ice cream at night:
1. Nestle Drumstick: While I prefer the Caramel Center over the chocolate, any Drumstick will do! I also enjoy those that are covered with nuts. Growing up, I don’t remember seeing Drumsticks with caramel or chocolate in the center—I just remember plain. The first time I had a caramel center was in Iraq from an Arabic ice cream. But, it stuck with me.
2. M&M Ice Cream Sandwiches: Three of my favorite snacks all rolled up in one: Ice Cream, Cookies, and M&Ms. Coincidently, I lost 20 pounds a couple of years ago eating these every night!
3. Magnum Bar: This I also discovered in Iraq. The DFAC had a cooler full of Magnum bars soon after the weekly shipment and I fell in love with them. I came back home, and told Monica about them and so we found them in Germany and then the States.
Those are my three choice ice creams—they are well tested and approved!
